Jewelry and Watches Association elects new board
On Wednesday, the General Meeting of the Association of Jewellry, Watches, Silverware and Related Industries in Pforzheim, Germany, elected a new president among others. A 57 year old homegrown Pforzheimer, Dr. Philipp Reisert, determined the fate of the association for 10 years. As the Pforzheimer News reported on the Internet, the new president Uwe Staib has worked at the association since 1995. His full-time job is as CEO of Staib GmbH, a supplier to the watch and jewelry industry. His company is a household name in the production of mesh and braids made of precious metals. Trained as an industrial clerk and goldsmith, Staib maintains production capacity in Eastern Europe and the Far East.
The association merged in 1999 from two previous associations of the watch industry and the jewelry and silverware industries and advocates for the interests of its members. Since the association has a general manager reporting to the new president, Uwe Staib probably mainly will represent the association at functions. The association forms the united voice of German industry at the European(CPHE) and international level (CIBJO). It also operates under the auspices of the Federal Association of German Industries. The team at goldSea24 wishes Mr. Staib and his new board good luck in their work!
