Seiko is the victor

Seiko – the most popular brand in the medium-price category

In the annual survey of 'markt-intern', the industry journal for watches and jewellery, the Seiko brand takes first place among watches with a purchase price of €500 and above. The extensive survey took place in the first half of 2010, although the results were not published until November.

Among other things participants were asked how satisfied they were on the basis of their own experience with the individual brands. The criteria for the assessment included sales policy, loyalty to specialist retailers, product quality, support for sales and advertising, the way complaints are dealt with, the retail margins which can be achieved, stock turnover speed, punctuality of delivery and order processing, support from field sales, delivery of spare parts and activities in favour of 'a clean internet'.

The participating jewellers were able to give grades which ranged from 1 (very good) to 6 (poor). In the survey Seiko achieved excellent results in all categories and accordingly was proclaimed the victor in the overall ranking.

"Over the past ten years the Seiko Deutschland team has made a major effort to develop Seiko into the leading brand in the medium-price range once more. After taking first place in the medium-price bracket in last year's 'markt intern' survey, we are really pleased that we have been able to repeat this success under the new terms of the survey, too. For us this ranking is confirmation that we're on the right road and also an incentive to continue with the strategy we have taken," states Frank Deckert, Senior Manager Marketing & Sales at Seiko Deutschland.
